Roisin Glover - Director & Speech Therapist

Roisin is the Director and Senior Speech Pathologist here at The Speech Spot Illawarra. After graduating as a Speech Pathologist in 2011 from the University of Sydney, she relocated to Wollongong and has been fortunate to work in public, private and non-government organisations with the region.

Along the way, she developed a special interest in complex communication needs and began to specialise in AAC assessment and prescription as well as feeding difficulties in children.

She started The Speech Spot Illawarra so that she could continue her passion of supporting complex communicators and their families as well as support her own growing family’s needs – Roisin is the mum to 4 children!

When she isn’t at work, she loves:

  • Being at home with her husband (Michael aka The Speech Spot’s Practice Manager) and their four children – Matthew, Elizabeth, Patrick and Eloise

  • Cooking especially baking yummy treats which don’t last long in her household

  • Swimming even in winter


Clare Kelly - Fulltime Speech Therapist

Clare graduated as a Speech Pathologist from the University of Sydney in 2007. Her motivation to learn and experience new things has taken her to many places to live and work, widening her skill set along the way.  

Clare enjoys working across the range of communication needs for pre and primary school children. She is passionate about working in partnership with parents and other key adults to adapt the communication environment and develop skills to enhance communication and learning. She values connection through play, interests and strengths.

When she isn’t at work, you will usually find Clare somewhere in nature doing activities such as bushwalking, camping or kayaking. She is learning Auslan and enjoys joining in local events with the Deaf community

Hannah Pastro - Fulltime Speech Therapist

Hannah is a speech therapist who studied at Charles Sturt University in Albury. She relocated to the area after graduating and has worked in private practice since.

Hannah is passionate about working within a child’s natural environments and connecting

with the team of people around the child. She has a particular interest in working with

Autistic children and their families to support communication in a strengths-based and neurodiversity affirming way.

When she isn’t at work, you will find Hannah reading, at Pilates, cooking or near the beach.

David Hilton - Fulltime Speech Therapist

David graduated as a Speech Pathologist from the University of Newcastle in 2023. He recently relocated to Wollongong with his partner Ly and they have a baby on the way.  

David has a strong interest in making therapy fun for children along with educating and engaging parents on the way. His goal is ensuring children have literacy skills to participate in classroom activities by helping boost speech and language skills to enable children to make friends and have fun.

When he isn’t at work, you will find David somewhere outdoors enjoying activities such as boating and fishing, snorkelling and surfing, gardening (qualified horticulturist), travelling and eating exotic foods.

Bronte Cooke - Full Time Speech Pathologist

Bronte is a speech therapist who will graduate in November 2023 from University of Canberra. Originally from Bathurst, Bronte relocated to Wollongong to complete her undergraduate degree before deciding to study speech pathology.


Bronte has a particular interest in supporting children with complex communication needs and clients with feeding difficulties. She values building relationships with the client to ensure therapy is fun and engaging. Additionally, she is passionate about working with parents and caregivers to support them in making decisions and developing skills to assist with their child’s communication.

When she isn’t at work, you will usually find Bronte in the kitchen cooking, spending time with her family in Bathurst, watching any sport, or going for walks along the beach.

Michael Glover - Director, Practice Manager,
Part Time Receptionist and Toy Doctor

Co-director, business and accounts manager, receptionist, and toy doctor. If it needs doing at The Speech Spot and it isn’t speech therapy, Michael is your man!

Michael graduated from Macquarie University in 2012 with his Masters of Chiropractic, before working as a chiropractor for several years. Michael moved into physiotherapy working in aged care a few years later, where he worked until mid 2022 and joined The Speech Spot team.

Woodfire pizza lover

Michael is passionate about helping The Speech Spot clients and their families, and is always more than happy to speak with you about any questions or enquiries you may have, making the whole process as easy and straight-forward as possible.

When he is not doing Rubik's cubes in the office with Snailey you can find Michael standing on his balcony serving Friday night dinner from the pizza oven or working on the DIY man-cave home improvements. 

Our team are constantly learning and developing new skills to make sure we stay at the forefront of therapies for you cool is that!
